Job summary

Allied Universal in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Loss Prevention Screening to monitor access points, screen items, and help identify security concerns at a logistics location.

You will maintain a visible presence, deliver exceptional customer service, and support site procedures while working a Thursday/Friday night shift. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• X-Ray screening experience preferred.
• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Licensing requirements may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide client, visitor, and personnel screening per site procedures.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and property entering designated areas.
• Operate screening equipment and report prohibited items or irregularities.
• Respond to incidents calmly and document procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of screening areas and access points.

As a Screener in a logistics and distribution location, you will use screening technology to monitor access points, review items and activity, and help identify potential security-related concerns. You will maintain a visible presence, support access control procedures, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.22 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thursday: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Friday: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or property entering designated areas in accordance with site procedures and applicable requirements.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct inspections of persons, belongings, shipments, and/or vehicles as assigned, reporting prohibited items or irregularities to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and documentation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, access points, operational spaces, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
