Job summary

Allied Universal in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Security Officer Full Time Screening Compliance to safeguard clients across industries, including Logistics & Distribution. As a Screener in a fast-paced logistics location, you will use screening technology to support security operations, monitor access points, and help identify concerns. You will interact professionally with employees and visitors while delivering customer service.

Position Type: Full Time. Pay Rate: $17.22 / Hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• Armed roles may require additional licensing.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related screening procedures and following site policies.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and permitted items entering designated areas according to established procedures and access requirements.
• Monitor screening equipment and access points, identify prohibited or unauthorized items, and report concerns to site contacts and leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following escalation and documentation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, loading locations, and spaces as assigned; environments may vary by location.

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Tue: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and permitted items entering designated areas in accordance with established procedures and access requirements.
• Monitor screening equipment and access points, identify prohibited or unauthorized items, and report concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and documentation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, loading locations, business spaces, and the perimeter, as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
