Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a loading dock in New York, NY. This part-time posting offers a flexible schedule and opportunities to support security at financial institutions and other client sites.

You will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service. Prior security experience and basic qualifications are required. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assisting with access control and directing individuals to appropriate locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting events.
• Maintain detailed activity logs and incident reports, communicating observations to leadership and site contacts.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a financial institution by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with access control and directing individuals to appropriate locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting events as required.
• Maintain detailed activity logs and incident reports, communicating observations and concerns to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
