Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in Abilene State Supported Living Center is seeking a Security Officer II to protect residents, staff, and property. The role includes monitoring CCTV, patrolling the campus, and responding to emergencies while coordinating with management and local authorities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a Texas driver’s license within 90 days, and preferred experience in security or related fields. Ability to work nights and weekends is often required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or 12 months of work experience required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license required within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to detect unauthorized access or incidents.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings and grounds; respond to alarms and emergencies.
• Prepare concise incident and security reports; coordinate with management and law enforcement when needed.
• Assist in training new security officers and adhere to mandatory training requirements.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and participate in disaster recovery or COOP activities.
