Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin, TX is seeking a Security Officer II to protect facilities and residents. The role requires vigilance, prompt action on incidents, and collaboration with state staff to maintain safe, secure environments at the Austin State Supported Living Center.

You will monitor cameras, perform patrols, respond to alarms, and assist in emergency management and investigations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or 12 months of work experience.
• Experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
• Experience with people with disabilities or mental health issues preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend work on a regular basis and follow shift schedules.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and report emergencies.
• Conduct routine patrols and respond to alarms.
• Prepare incident reports and train new officers.
• Assist in emergency responses and COOP activations.
