Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or 12 months of work experience required.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
• Experience with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities or mental health issues preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule, including extended or rotating shifts.
• Monitors surveillance cameras for unauthorized persons, fires, and incidents and reports emergencies immediately.
• Conducts routine patrols of buildings and grounds and takes action when needed.
• Responds to fire alarms and participates in drills and life-safety checks.
• Disseminates and coordinates emergency responses and notifies management and law enforcement as appropriate.
• Assists in apprehension of suspects for unauthorized entry or other violations.
• Prepares timely incident and security-violation documentation.
• Trains and mentors new security officers as needed.
• Participates in mandatory training to maintain competencies.
