Job Summary

Provides a reasonably safe and secure environment by providing security services for staff, patients, visitors, and premises, and being first responders to urgent facility matters.

Primary Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Protects property and staff by conducting interior and exterior rounds, observing for safety and security issues, theft, and monitoring parking lots.
  • Promotes visitor and employee safety by providing door checks, detecting lighting deficiencies, confirming elevator operation, assisting with disruptive individuals, patient restraints, and providing escorts as requested.
  • Responds to overhead pages or assistance requests, including escorting emergency personnel and providing post-mortem services.
  • Provides professional customer service, handles complex situations, and communicates with clinical staff to identify hazards.
  • Reports security concerns, completes incident reports and logs.
  • Assists with maintenance and safety checks, including alarm testing, safety equipment checks, and access control.
  • Enforces organizational policies and procedures.
  • Monitors, reviews, and investigates incidents using video systems.
  • May operate a motor vehicle for patrols.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must complete a psychological assessment after conditional employment offer to confirm suitability for security duties.
Physical Requirements

  • Constant hearing and vision for safety and alarm detection.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and twisting.
  • Occasional bending, climbing, and lifting over 50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of keyboard, smell, and driving.
Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Various licenses depending on state, including driver’s license, PERC, armed security license, or law enforcement certification.
STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Illinois: Driving record, driver license, and PERC or law enforcement certification.
  • Missouri: Driving record, driver license, and possibly armed security license.
  • Oklahoma & Wisconsin: Driving record and driver license.
