Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Hospital Security Officer in Columbia, SC to safeguard a high profile healthcare client. You will monitor premises, protect staff and visitors, and provide friendly customer service while remaining vigilant against incidents.

The job requires a HS diploma or GED, 21+ years old, a valid driver's license, and ability to pass background checks and drug screening. Training for security license is provided by the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
• Be at least 21 years of age for role.
• High school diploma or Verifiable High School Diploma or GED (Certificates of Completion not acceptable).
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record, and insurance requirements.
• Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the training requirement and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or via a vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals
• Orally and physically de-escalating individuals, as needed
• Inspect all security devices and fire control equipment
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility
• Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, or inclement weather with calm urgency
• May also include patient escort, patient watch, provide safety escort, assist and/or transport deceased to morgue

• Must possess a valid Driver’s Licensewith at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
• Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the training requirement and obtain a Management of Aggressive Behavior certification
