Allied Universal in Columbia, SC is seeking a Security Officer General Duty to monitor entry points, verify credentials, and assist tenants and visitors while maintaining safety and service quality. Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• A drug screen is required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or property management personnel by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor records, and direct guests in accordance with commercial property procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building entrances, lobbies, common areas, parking facilities, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Operate access-control systems, cameras, alarms, and communication equipment; report malfunctions, unusual conditions, and security-related concerns to Allied Universal supervision and/or site management.

• Wed: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Thur: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Fri: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sat: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
