Job summary

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a Security Officer for Gate City Casino in Nashua, New Hampshire. The role supports guest and team member safety with both part-time and full-time opportunities.

Shift details include a 3:00pm–11:00pm window and weekends; pay ranges from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including weekly pay, training opportunities, employee discounts, and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to obtain State Gaming Commission license.
• Strong verbal communication, observation and report writing skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Criminal background check clearance required.
• CPR/First-Aid/AED/BBP certification when trained.

Responsibilities

• Check identification for proper admittance to gaming floor.
• Conduct cash escorts as required.
• Observe, report, and handle procedural violations and illegal activity.
• Operate a motorized vehicle when necessary.
• Maintain crowd control and handle guest issues professionally.
• Ensure safety and security of guests, employees and assets.
• Patrol all areas of the property and monitor for suspicious activity.
• Assist guests and employees during emergencies or medical incidents.

What will you do?

• Ensure that identification is checked for proper admittance to the gaming floor
• Conduct cash escorts as required
• Observe, handle, and report procedural violations and illegal activity
• Operate a motorized vehicle when necessary
• Maintain crowd control as required
• Defuse guest profanity and handle issues or complaints professionally
• Ensure the safety and security of guests, employees and company assets of the property
• Patrol all areas of the property
• Monitor for suspicious activity, unauthorized behavior, and safety hazards
• Assist guests/employees during emergencies, evacuations and/or medical incidents
• Respond to calls for service, accidents, violations of NH and/or Federal Law and gaming laws, rules and regulations in a calm and professional manner
• De-escalate conflicts using verbal and non-verbal techniques
• Complete accurate, complete and detailed incident reports, security logs and daily activity reports
• Secure evidence when needed and coordinate with local law enforcement

More About You

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to be licensed by State Gaming Commission
• Ability to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations when handling guest issues or complaints
• Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Prior law enforcement, security or military experience preferred; hospitality/customer service experience a plus
• Clear a criminal background check
• Strong verbal communication, observation and report writing skills (must be able to document incidents via the use of a computer)
• Administer medical assistance to guests and employees once certified in CPR/First-Aid/AED/BBP by the employee

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate through two way radio
• Bending, stooping, lifting and carrying occasionally
• Vision sufficient to perform duties day or night
• Exposure to an occasionally smoky and loud environment
