Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer (Full Time Unarmed Patrol) in Ashburn, VA. The position requires a high school diploma, 18+ years old, and background checks. CPR is preferred; a guard card/license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Criminal history background check as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families by following site procedures and emergency responses.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter to deter issues.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, direct guests, report unusual conditions or violations.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and emergencies.
• Document incidents and patrols, inform Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or families by carrying out site-specific procedures, school district policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing guests, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate school personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following established procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately; communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
