Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a Full Time Unarmed position in Ashburn, VA. You will protect students, staff, and visitors by maintaining a visible presence, responding to incidents, and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include routine patrols, monitoring access points, documenting incidents, and following school and district protocols. Applicants should have a high school diploma, be 18+, pass background checks and drug screening; CPR and Guard Card

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Background check required per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing: Guard Card or license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions.

• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations calmly and in line with school/district protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and report concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and assist with orderly entry/exit during school hours and events.
• Document incidents and observations accurately and communicate information to site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

• Tue: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM


• Wed: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM


• Thur: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM


• Fri: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and school community members while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.


• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established school and district protocols.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.


• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and assist with maintaining orderly entry and exit procedures during school hours and events.


• Document incidents, observations, and security-related concerns accurately, and communicate relevant information to appropriate site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• A Guard Card or license is preferred.


• CPR certification is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
