Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer for a full-time, unarmed patrol role in San Jose, CA. You will safeguard clients across manufacturing and industrial sites, perform routine patrols, deter incidents, and provide a welcoming environment while delivering excellent customer service.

The position requires at least 6 months of security experience, comfort with computers/tablets, and the ability to follow site procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, offices, parking areas, entry points, and the facility perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, contractor, and delivery credentials in accordance with site-specific access-control procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation while supporting a professional and welcoming environment.
