Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Guard (Unarmed Driver Patrol) in San Jose, CA. You will monitor, patrol, and deliver exceptional customer service at a manufacturing and industrial site, while driving as needed and upholding site procedures.

The pay rate is $24.50 per hour. Schedule includes DayTime and Weekend shifts: Sat 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM and Sun 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and direct authorized personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations following post orders and notifying appropriate contacts.
• Document activities, observations, incidents, and policy violations accurately through logs and reports.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain entry records, and direct authorized personnel in accordance with facility procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter, reporting unusual conditions and potential security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Document activities, observations, incidents, and policy violations accurately through required logs and reports while helping to deter unauthorized access and disruptive activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
