Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Licensed Patrol) in San Jose, CA. You will patrol, monitor access, and provide customer service while maintaining security procedures and reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Security experience required (min 6 months).
• State/city security license preferred.
• Comfort with computer or tablet usage.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Minimum age 18 (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening as conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, offices, parking areas, access points, and the facility perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization of employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift logs, communicating relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
