Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol in Central Valley, NY. You will patrol a luxury retail location, deter incidents, assist with access control, and deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a professional presence.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, background check, and drug screening. Preference given to candidates with guard card/license and access control experience. Shift coverage includes weekday and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen is required prior to employment.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles (21+ for armed).
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Access control or badge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and suspicious activity calmly and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity for unusual conditions, reporting concerns per site procedures.
• Maintain a professional, welcoming presence in a luxury retail environment and support loss prevention and incident documentation.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, stock areas, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity for unusual conditions, reporting security-related concerns according to site procedures.
• Assist with maintaining a professional, welcoming presence in a luxury retail environment while supporting loss prevention and incident documentation requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
