Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Facility Patrol in Detroit, MI. You will patrol commercial real estate, deter incidents, monitor access points, assist tenants and visitors, and maintain a professional, welcoming environment reflecting Allied Universal’s values.

Responsibilities include reporting incidents, preparing clear written reports, and coordinating with site leadership and emergency responders.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required by employer.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property staff while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the property, parking areas, and perimeter to identify security issues.
• Monitor access points and verify visitors in accordance with procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and document activities per site rules.
• Prepare written reports and coordinate with leadership and responders.

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Facility Patrol in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, monitor access points, and assist tenants, visitors, and employees with professionalism. You will support a welcoming environment through clear communication and customer service while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture with integrity and teamwork.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Thur 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or property management personnel while carrying out site‑specific security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial property buildings, parking areas, common areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and security-related conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe persons entering and leaving the property in accordance with established visitor, contractor, and access‑control procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate contacts and document activities according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate written reports and maintain communication with Allied Universal leadership, property representatives, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
