Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer at a government site in Rockville, MD. This full-time role screens visitors and belongings, controls access, and reports security concerns while maintaining a welcoming, professional environment.

The position requires 2+ years of security experience, background checks, and a valid driver’s license where applicable. Pay is $22.09 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule and opportunities for growth.

As a Screener at a government location, you will help maintain a welcoming, professional environment by screening visitors and belongings, monitoring access points, and reporting security-related concerns. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $22.09 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM


• Wed 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM


• Thur 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM


• Fri 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.


• Screen individuals and permitted items using established access-control procedures and screening equipment, escalating prohibited or concerning items in accordance with site protocols.


• Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for entry while maintaining accurate visitor and screening-related records.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency responders as directed.


• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.


• Alarm panel experience is preferred.


• Access control and badge experience is preferred.


• X-ray screening experience is preferred.


• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Must be 21 years of age or older


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
