Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Rockville, MD to support government facilities with screening, access control, and customer service.

You will work a fixed schedule (Wed–Fri 7:00 AM–5:00 PM) and be responsible for screening, identifying risks, and documenting incidents in compliance with site procedures.

A guard card, clean background, and ability to pass a drug screen are preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable government facility requirements.
• Screen visitors, packages, and belongings in accordance with established procedures, using screening equipment and maintaining orderly entry processes.
• Verify identification and access credentials, direct individuals to appropriate locations, and report access concerns or prohibited items to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific emergency response procedures.
• Maintain accurate screening logs and incident documentation, and communicate observations to supervisors and/or designated site representatives.

• Fri 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM

What You'll Do:
