Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Healthcare Screener in Silver Spring, MD. This position offers reliable hours at an assigned site with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will provide customer service, screen visitors and belongings, verify identifications, and respond to incidents in a calm, professional manner while following site procedures and security guidelines.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• At least 5 years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigations required by law.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

As a Security Officer Part Time Healthcare Screener in Silver Spring, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.09 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat07:00 AM - 03:00 PMSun07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific, security-related procedures and access requirements at a government location.
• Screen individuals, personal belongings, and permitted items using designated screening equipment and established protocols.
• Verify identification, credentials, visitor authorizations, and entry permissions; direct visitors to appropriate check-in points or offices.
• Respond to screening alarms, prohibited-item concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Document screening activities, incidents, and unusual observations in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
• Possess at least 5 years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
