Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services provider, is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time Perimeter Patrol) in Suffolk, VA. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible, professional presence, and support access control operations at a technology-focused site.

Responsibilities include handling security-related procedures, reporting incidents, and providing excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and document relevant observations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services when required.
• Prepare clear reports and maintain accurate activity logs in alignment with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

What You'll Do
