Allied Universal in Suffolk, VA is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) to protect client facilities and support access control at a technology-focused location. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and escalate according to protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, workspaces, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; verify authorization as directed by site procedures; maintain documentation.
• Support a professional, welcoming environment while deterring unauthorized access and staying aware of changing conditions.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, workspaces, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
• Support a professional, welcoming environment while helping to deter unauthorized access and maintaining awareness of changing conditions across the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
