Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Full-Time Security Officer for a healthcare site in Birmingham. You will deliver exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while following site policies and emergency procedures.

You will respond to medical emergencies calmly, conduct unarmed patrols of hospital buildings and parking areas, monitor access points, assist visitors, and report incidents clearly to staff and leadership.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions, access-control procedures, and the reporting of suspicious activity or facility concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with healthcare staff, law enforcement, and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents and daily activities.

Pay Rate: $16.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Tue 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Sun 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Be able to work in a hospital morgue.
• Be able to restrain individuals.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
