Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a Full Time Day Shift at a corporate building in New York, NY. You will provide security services, greet tenants and visitors, and uphold site policies while delivering exceptional customer service.

As an unarmed patrol officer, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, report concerns, and support property management and emergency responders as needed. Pay is $19.06 per hour.

Qualifications

• License: Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Age: 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen as per law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and vendors by following site policies and safety procedures.
• Conduct regular foot patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points and perimeter to deter incidents.
• Monitor access and verify visitor/contractor authorization as directed by site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document observations.
• Assist with directions and communication with property management and emergency responders as needed.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization as directed by site procedures, and report access-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and complete required incident reports.
• Maintain a professional presence while assisting with directions, tenant requests, and communication with property management and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
