Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer - Corporate Building Patrol in New York. You will patrol and monitor a premier commercial real estate location, provide tenant and visitor assistance, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents.

The role emphasizes customer service, reporting, and adherence to site procedures, with a daytime schedule and on-site duties. This opportunity offers flexible shifts and a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have X-Ray screening experience, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, loading docks, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access to the property, verify visitor and contractor authorization as directed, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific response procedures and contacting emergency services when appropriate.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and daily activity logs documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.
