Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time security officer in Alabama. The shift pattern runs Wed–Sun 2:00 PM–10:00 PM for a technology-focused site, with opportunities for training and growth.

You will provide courteous service to personnel and visitors, respond to incidents, conduct patrols, monitor access, and document activities for leadership review.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background investigation to be conducted by law.
• CPR certification preferred; license or guard card preferred.

• Respond to incidents and access-control concerns with calm, problem-solving approach.

• Document patrols and incidents accurately; report to site contacts and leadership.

Pay Rate: $17.46 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, helping to deter unauthorized entry and supporting site access requirements.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
