Allied Universal in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Access Control Specialist to safeguard clients across tech, media and telecom locations. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and assist visitors and employees with professionalism.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 (21 for armed roles), and pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, manage visitor registration, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Support a professional and welcoming environment by providing directions, communicating site requirements, and reporting security-related observations to Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts.
