Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Access Control Patrol in Christiansburg, VA. You will monitor designated areas, perform routine patrols, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents at a manufacturing/industrial site.

You will support access control, respond to alarms, and deliver excellent customer service. This full-time role requires operating security technologies, following site policies, and coordinating with site leadership.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, organized manner per reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor/contractor authorization; document visits and incidents.
• Observe and report hazards and security concerns to site leadership.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Access Control Patrol in Christiansburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to alarms, use computer or tablet-based tools, and provide outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior production areas, offices, parking areas, loading docks, and the facility perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Observe and report equipment hazards, property damage, access control concerns, and other security-related issues to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
