Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol in Danville, VA to safeguard clients across Manufacturing & Industrial settings. You will monitor areas, conduct routine patrols, and support access control while providing excellent customer service and clear communication.

The role emphasizes responding to security-related concerns, reporting incidents, and maintaining a visible, safety-focused presence. A strong service mindset and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience or a college degree.
• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Guard card/license preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, production areas, parking areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and shift activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
