Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Full Time Security Guard patrol and access control in Sterling, VA to protect clients across tech/telecom sites. You will monitor areas, deter incidents, support access control, and deliver customer service to employees and visitors.

We value teamwork, integrity, and reliability. The role requires being 18+ and passing background checks; CPR/First Aid and a guard license are preferred and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening required per law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a technology infrastructure location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, and critical infrastructure areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and maintain accurate incident, patrol, and shift documentation.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related observations, incidents, and operational concerns.

Job Description

As a Security Guard Full Time Patrol Access Control in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a dynamic technology location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide welcoming customer service. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors while using technology to document observations and support daily operations. • A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
