Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Access Control in Sparrows Point, MD. You will manage entry and exit, monitor access points, and provide outstanding customer service to employees and visitors in an industrial setting.

• Conduct regular patrols of entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify hazards or unauthorized access.
• Document daily activities and access control concerns per Allied Universal procedures.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.03 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Wed: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control policies, and emergency response activities at an industrial location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, processing visitors and contractors, maintaining entry records, and directing individuals according to site requirements.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating with appropriate site contacts and emergency responders when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, parking areas, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or unauthorized access.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and access control concerns in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
