Job summary

Baptist Health Paducah is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and property across Baptist Health facilities. You will respond to calls, patrol the campus, and assist with traffic control as needed.

The position is full-time with a 4-day schedule: three 12-hour shifts and one 6-hour shift, including Friday rotation and weekends. Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and must obtain BLS within 3 months; Use of Force, OC spray, and Taser

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Driver’s license is required.
• Must obtain BLS within 3 months of hire.
• Use of Force certification and Taser training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Answers all calls for service and questions; responds accordingly.
• Investigates incidents, completes reports, and notifies appropriate authorities.
• Subdues and/or de-escalates high-stress situations as needed.
• Performs monthly fire/extinguisher and exit sign checks.
• conducts routine campus foot patrols and assists with parking/traffic control.

Security Officer

Provides security and protection to the person and property of those entering Baptist Health Paducah and secondary buildings associated with the operations of Baptist Health buildings, equipment, supplies, and report any misuse of any hospital buildings, equipment, and properties.

Full Time, 4 Days/Week - Three 12 Hour Shifts and One 6 Hour Shift

6a-6p and Every Other Friday from Either 6a-12p or 12p-6p

Schedule will also consist with part of the 12-hour shifts being every other weekend.

Job Duties:

• Answers all calls for service and answers questions concerning these calls or responds accordingly.
• Investigates all incidents involving criminal matters, completes an incident report and reports such matters as appropriate to the proper authority.
• Required to subdue and/or de-escalate high stress, tense situations involving combative person(s) for an unknown period of time.
• Able to assist and complete required fire checks (Fire Extinguishers and Exit Signs on a monthly basis.)
• Conducts routine internal and external foot patrols on the main campus and issue parking violations and assist with traffic control as needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Driver’s License
• Must obtain BLS within 3 months of hire. Use of Force certification, including exposure to OC spray, pressure points and control tactics and Taser training within 6 months

Preferred Requirements:

• Two (2) years’ experience in the field of Law Enforcement, Security, Military and/or Corrections
