Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Front Desk Security Officer in Houston, TX to welcome visitors, manage access, monitor systems, and provide exceptional customer service. You will support staff, patients, and guests while maintaining a safe, orderly environment across healthcare and other posting sites.

The role requires at least 6 months of security experience, the ability to use a computer or tablet, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Must have hospital vaccination requirements.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Customer service experience, preferred.
• Alarm panel experience, preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service at a front desk location by following site procedures and directing visitors, patients, families and staff.
• Monitor facility access, verify visitor credentials, and maintain visitor logs.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies in a calm, professional manner and coordinate with responders.
• Observe front desk activity, report unusual conditions and deter unauthorized access.
• Maintain clear written records of daily activities and incidents per site requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service at a front desk location by following site-specific procedures, supporting visitor check-in, and directing clients, patients, families, and staff as appropriate.
• Monitor access to the facility, verify visitor credentials and/or appointments in accordance with site policies, and maintain accurate visitor logs.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
• Observe front desk and lobby activity, report unusual conditions or security-related concerns, and help to deter unauthorized access.
• Maintain clear written records of daily activities, incidents, and communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must meet hospital vaccination requirements.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Have alarm panel experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
