Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for Front Desk Access Services in Redwood City, CA. You will welcome visitors, manage access, and support security procedures at a dynamic location. The role focuses on safe, courteous service and accurate record-keeping using computer systems.

Requirements include at least 2 years in security and a HS diploma. CPR/First Aid is preferred. Shift schedule is Daytime, with a pay rate of $27.00 per hour, and a background check plus drug screen

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles; background check required.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by executing security procedures and emergency responses.
• Staff the front desk, greet visitors, manage access procedures, and direct guests.
• Monitor entry activity, verify credentials, and maintain visitor records.
• Respond to incidents calmly and solve problems.
• Report observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Staff the front desk, greet visitors, manage visitor access procedures, and direct guests to the appropriate destination.
• Monitor entry activity, verify credentials as directed by site policies, and maintain accurate visitor and access records.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Communicate observations, concerns, and incidents to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership in accordance with established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
