Job summary

Allied Universal in Sterling, VA is seeking a Security Officer – Flex Mobile Tech Patrol to safeguard client sites, conduct patrols, and deliver strong customer service. The role supports access control and site procedures at a technology and telecommunications location.

The position is part-time with a flexible schedule, offering the chance to work through our Shift-claim platform, gain training, and contribute to a safety-focused, people-first culture.

Qualifications

• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• Guard Card and/or applicable license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology and telecommunications location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting actions taken, and coordinating with site leadership and/or public responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points, checking for unusual conditions, unsecured doors, and/or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points and building systems as assigned, verifying authorization for entry, following visitor management procedures, and reporting suspicious behavior and/or policy violations.
• Complete routine reporting such as shift logs, patrol documentation, and incident reports, communicating relevant updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts per post orders.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
