Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Flex Unarmed Patrol in Sterling, VA. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, manage access control, and deliver a customer-first experience at a high-tech location.

This is a flex part-time role with a pay rate of $19.29 per hour and day/night shifts to fit your schedule. Responsibilities include responding to incidents, documenting observations, and supporting site operations while coordinating with staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or may be completed post hire.
• Guard card/license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required as per federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeters to deter incidents.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor/vendor authorization per site requirements.
• Complete routine reports and communicate shift activity to site leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a technology location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site contacts and/or public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, equipment areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor/vendor activity, verifying authorization and directing individuals to appropriate areas in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Complete routine reports and incident documentation, communicate shift activity to site leadership, and assist with client requests related to site operations.

Minimum Requirements

• A CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
