Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Deterrence in Portland, TX. The role offers reliable fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts and earn more, joining a leading security team.

Pay rate is $15.60 per hour with a daytime schedule on Fridays. Responsibilities include access-control at a chemical/petrochemical site, unarmed patrols, incident response, and reporting activities to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment depending on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking areas, and restricted zones to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain entry records, and report access-control concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, evacuations, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and notify site personnel and responders as directed.
• Document patrol activities and shift information and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Deterrence in Portland, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri04:00 AM - 12:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access‑control requirements, and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking areas, and restricted zones to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain entry records, and report access‑control concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, evacuations, and other critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as directed.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, observations, and shift information accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
