Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol for a Retail Center in San Diego, CA. This role offers flexible, anchor-based shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings, up to a 40-hour schedule per week.

Pay rate is $19.67 per hour. The position requires at least 1 year of security experience, a high school diploma, and compliance with background checks, drug screens, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Candidates who are comfortable using a computer or tablet are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols throughout the retail and mall location, including common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter.
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns, and report observations through established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Complete required activity reports and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
