Allied Universal is seeking a part-time security officer at our Mountain View site to provide customer service and enforce site access and safety protocols. Anchored on a fixed shift, you will patrol buildings, monitor entrances, and report incidents to site leadership.

This role offers flexibility with the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program, allowing additional shifts across multiple sites while maintaining base hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation required by policy.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Guard card or security license preferred where applicable.

Job Schedule:

Sat 04:00 PM - 08:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents, student or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, classrooms, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management procedures, directing guests and reporting unauthorized access attempts or policy violations to appropriate school personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and communicate observations, concerns, and security-related information to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
