Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and the public while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor entry and exit points; verify identification, credentials, and authorization before allowing access.
• Maintain visitor logs, issue and collect visitor credentials or access devices, and direct individuals to appropriate offices or designated areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally; notify site contacts and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time - Control Centerin Punta Gorda, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeWed03:00 PM - 11:00 PMThur03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public while carrying out access‑control procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Monitor entry and exit points; verify identification, credentials, and authorization before allowing access in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain visitor logs, issue and collect visitor credentials or access devices, and direct individuals to appropriate offices or designated areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; promptly notify appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or applicable license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
