As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Controlled Entry Driver in Fernandina Beach, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.34 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon10:30 PM - 06:30 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and government personnel while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Control access to port and transportation‑related facilities by verifying credentials, monitoring entry and exit points, maintaining visitor logs, and directing authorized individuals to appropriate locations.
• Monitor access‑control systems, cameras, alarms, and communication equipment; report irregularities, unauthorized access attempts, and equipment concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or policy concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
