Job summary

Allied Universal in Tampa, FL is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time to support site access control, visitor management, and emergency response activities. This role provides reliable, flexible hours with the option to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $17.00 per hour with a fixed shift schedule (Thursdays 2:00 PM–10:00 PM). Minimum requirements include access control experience and a high school diploma; lifting up to 20 pounds is preferred.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Tampa, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Shift schedule: Thur 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain accurate access‑related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access‑control concerns, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, building entrances, loading areas, and perimeter locations to help identify security‑related concerns within a food and beverage distribution environment.
• Report unusual activity, access violations, damaged barriers, and other security‑related observations to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
