Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer on a New York campus to monitor and patrol facilities, provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff and visitors, and ensure safety in accordance with post orders.

You will respond to incidents, manage access points, and document patrols and incidents while upholding Allied Universal's values of integrity, reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus community following site procedures and emergency response steps.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeters, noting unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and manage post orders and necessary contacts.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs related to patrols, incidents, observations, and other security duties.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $20.40 - $21.40 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sun: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or other members of the campus community while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, noting and reporting unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs related to patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related duties.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
