Job summary

Allied Universal in Lorton, VA is seeking a Security Officer with DoD security clearance to patrol and protect client sites in technology-focused environments. You will monitor access, perform patrols, and maintain a visible security presence to deter incidents while delivering professional customer service.

The role requires an active DoD Secret Clearance, at least three years in related fields or a college degree, and may prefer CPR/First Aid credentials.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. Pay Rate: $26.92 / Hour

• Mon 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM


• Tue 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM


• Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM


• Thur 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM


• Fri 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or guests at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including business spaces, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report irregularities or security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.


• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately in required logs and reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess three or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.


• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.


• Access control and badge experience is preferred.


• CPR certification is preferred.


• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
