Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer for Reston, VA. You will patrol, monitor access, and provide exceptional service to employees and visitors at a technology location, with a focus on safety and professionalism.

Requirements include armed security experience, a valid license, and a high school diploma; CPR/First Aid is a plus. This is a full-time role with set evening shifts and opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a tech/communications site.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of interior/exterior areas and deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents calmly, following escalation and reporting procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for personnel and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate logs and shift documentation; communicate updates to leadership.

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Response in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Armed Security Officer at a technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $35.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Wed: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology and communications location by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter boundaries to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for personnel, visitors, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
