Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Lorton, VA. You will monitor access points, patrol premises, and respond to security concerns while delivering excellent customer service to employees and visitors.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years security-related experience or a college degree, and an active DoD Secret Clearance. CPR and licensing are preferred, with age minimums of 18 for unarmed roles or 21 for armed positions.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• A Guard Card or license preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond to incidents and access concerns calmly and follow site protocols.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor/contractor authorization; document activities.
• Communicate observations to site contacts and supervisors with a professional presence.

Pay Rate: $26.92 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sun 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the business, office areas, common spaces, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization as directed, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and patrol documentation.
• Communicate observations and concerns to site contacts, supervisors, and appropriate response personnel while maintaining a professional presence.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
