Job summary

Allied Universal in Oxnard, CA, is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced at our distribution center. The role features fixed anchor shifts with a six-month commitment and the option to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to boost earnings.

Responsibilities include customer service, patrols, access monitoring, incident response, and reporting. Minimums: 18+ (21+ armed), high school diploma, background check, and drug screen; driving roles require a valid license.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required for certain positions and a valid driver's license may be required for driving roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, donors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution center areas to identify unusual activity and hazards.
• Monitor access, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and maintain visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and follow escalation procedures.
• Observe and report suspicious activity and policy violations to site management.

As a Security Officer Distribution Center in Oxnard, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, visitors, donors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of distribution, processing, storage, loading, parking, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and potential hazards.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor authorization as directed, and maintain accurate visitor, delivery, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, facility concerns, and policy violations to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
