Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer Dispatch Console Operator in Norfolk, VA. You will coordinate communications, monitor activity, dispatch resources, and support timely responses to security-related situations.

Position is Full Time with a $19.00 per hour pay rate. You’ll work a set schedule evenings through weekends, providing professional service to clients across Tech/Media/Telecom sectors and maintaining compliant,

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
• Receive, prioritize, document, and dispatch security service requests, alarms, incidents, and communications.
• Monitor systems, logs, and site activity; maintain dispatch records and reports.
• Respond to incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner and follow escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols as assigned, with location-based variations.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors at a telecommunications and media operations location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Receive, prioritize, document, and dispatch security-related service requests, alarms, incidents, and critical communications to appropriate personnel and/or responders.
• Monitor communication systems, access activity, cameras, and other site systems as assigned; maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident records, and shift reports.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicate updates to site leadership and/or emergency responders, and follow established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
