Job summary

Cologix, Inc. in Parsippany, NJ is seeking a Security Officer to provide a physical security layer across locations. You will verify identities, monitor cameras, control visitor access, and respond to emergencies while maintaining logs and coordinating with supervisors.

The role requires clear communication, reliability, and basic computer skills, with opportunities for shift differential and full-time benefits. 1st shift: Sun-Wed 7am-5pm, with an emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and related experience or training.
• SORA license preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Reliable and flexible with schedule and hours.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies identities of employees, customers and visitors entering and exiting.
• Monitors interior and exterior cameras and addresses policy infractions or emergencies.
• Controls visitor access and provides temporary badges; denies entry to non-qualified individuals.
• Keeps logs of entrants using the PeopleTracker system.
• Performs routine security checks and patrols, documenting findings.
• Monitors fire and security alarms and responds to incidents.
• Notifies authorities during emergencies and acts as a first responder when needed.
• Performs shipping and receiving duties per defined process.
• Responds to tickets, cases and emails within the security department.
• Maintains organization of security offices, equipment and loading docks.
• Seeks guidance from Security Supervisor and performs other duties as assigned.
