Job summary

Cologix seeks a dependable Data Center Security Guard to execute frontline physical security in a 24x7 data center. You’ll verify identities, monitor cameras, and respond to incidents, protecting people and critical infrastructure.

In this role you will support shipping/receiving controls, maintain logs, and be the first responder within training limits. This is a high-visibility position requiring composure, reliability, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in security, access control, facilities security, or related field.
• Ability to stay calm during incidents or emergencies with good judgment.
• Follow procedures professionally with employees, customers, and visitors.
• Strong logging and incident documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment requiring presence on site.

Responsibilities

• Verify identities and enforce access control for employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
• Monitor surveillance, alarms, and fire systems; initiate response as required.
• Conduct routine patrols; identify concerns and document findings.
• Issue temporary visitor credentials and maintain logs and chain-of-custody.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies per training and policy.
• Support shipping/receiving controls at controlled entry points.
• Respond to security tickets, cases, and communications promptly.
• Maintain clean, secure areas including monitoring stations.
• Escalate to Security Leadership as needed per protocols.
